History

Bijoy Singh Dighi is one of the largest and oldest tanks in Feni. By local tradition it was dug centuries ago by Raja Bijoy Singh, a local ruler, to give the people water — a common act of charity by the rulers and landowners of Bengal.

Like the other great tanks of the region, it served for generations as a source of drinking and bathing water. Today its wide water and tree-lined banks make it a calm green space close to the busy highway.

In the evenings and on holidays local families come here to walk and sit by the water.
