The Bibichini mosque stands on a mound above the surrounding fields near the Bishkhali river. Local tradition holds that it was built in the 17th century by Shah Neamatullah, a Sufi saint who came to the area during the Mughal period, and the village is said to take its name from his daughter.
The mosque is a single-domed brick building with thick walls, in the plain provincial Mughal style. It has been restored and is still used for prayer, with graves said to belong to the saint’s family close by.
It is a small, peaceful place rather than a grand monument, but it is a rare survival of the Mughal period this far south on the coast.
