History

Madhutila is an eco-park run by the Forest Department in Nalitabari upazila, set among the low hills along the border with Meghalaya. It was opened around the turn of the century to protect the hill forest and give visitors a way to enjoy it.

Inside are forest trails, a lake with boats, rest areas and a watchtower; from the top you can look across the green hills towards India. The forest is home to birds and small wildlife, and wild elephants pass through the wider area.

Compared with Gajni, Madhutila feels more like a forest, and it is a good place for a quiet walk on a winter morning.
